The WHES PowerPod is an all-in-one residential solar and battery system designed for New Zealand homes.

Combining a hybrid solar inverter, modular lithium battery storage and intelligent energy management in one streamlined system, the PowerPod helps homeowners use more of their own solar energy, reduce their reliance on the electricity grid and maintain essential power during an outage when correctly configured for backup operation.

Choose from 8kW or 10kW inverter options, with modular battery storage ranging from 9.97kWh to 19.9kWh. This allows your system to be sized around your household’s electricity consumption, solar array and future energy requirements.

The integrated design reduces installation complexity and creates a cleaner, more compact finish than traditional systems made up of separate inverter and battery components.

Why Add Battery Storage?

A standard grid-connected solar system only generates energy while sufficient sunlight is available. Any unused solar energy is normally exported to the grid.

The WHES PowerPod stores surplus solar generation so it can be used later in the evening, overnight or during periods of higher electricity demand. This helps increase solar self-consumption and reduce the amount of electricity purchased from the grid.

When the system is installed and configured with suitable backup circuits, its fast switching capability can also keep selected essential appliances operating during a grid outage.

Flexible Battery Capacity

Each WHES battery module provides approximately 4.99kWh of storage. Starting at 9.97kWh. We have capacity that best matches your household:

  • 9.95kWh – balanced storage for a typical home
  • 14.9kWh – increased capacity for higher evening consumption
  • 19.9kWh – larger storage for high-use households and greater backup coverage

Additional WHES PowerPod units may be connected in parallel where greater inverter output or battery capacity is required, subject to system design and installation requirements.

Built for Residential Installation

The PowerPod uses integrated plug-in terminals between modules, reducing the amount of manual interconnection wiring required during installation. The built-in meter function also simplifies communication wiring and system setup.

Its vertical all-in-one design provides a clean residential finish while occupying less space than many conventional wall-mounted inverter and battery combinations.

Quiet and Weather-Resistant

With noise emissions below 25dB, the PowerPod operates quietly and is suitable for installation around residential properties.

The IP65-rated enclosure provides protection against dust and water ingress. Final installation location and clearances must be assessed by the installer and comply with applicable New Zealand electrical and battery installation standards.
