Step-by-Step for GridFree Solar Systems

The TBB Nova app is a powerful tool that puts control and visibility of your solar system right in your hands. Whether you're using a Solar Nest or a Pro Series kit, the Nova app makes it easy to monitor performance, change settings, and get alerts — all from your smartphone or browser.

In this step-by-step guide, we’ll walk you through installing and setting up the app so you can get the most out of your GridFree system.

Step 1: Download the Nova App

Head to your phone’s app store:

  • Android: Open the Google Play Store
  • iPhone: Open the Apple App Store

In the search bar, type TBB Nova and look for the official app. Once you've found it, tap Download.

Step 2: Register Your Account

Once the app is installed:

  1. Open it and tap Register at the bottom.
  2. Enter your details:
    • Name, phone number, country, city
    • Company and dealer fields are optional
  3. Create and confirm a secure password.
  4. Enter the email address you want linked to your account, this is where you'll receive system alerts.
  5. Tap Get to receive a verification code via email.
  6. Copy and paste the code into the verification field.
  7. Agree to the terms and tap Register.

You can now log in using your new credentials.

Step 3: Add Your Site

  1. After logging in, tap the “+” icon to add a site.
  2. When prompted, allow the app to access your location, this helps automatically detect your installation site.
  3. Select your communication module — for most GridFree systems, this will be the E4 series.

Step 4: Connect to Wi-Fi

To get your system online:

  1. On your E4 monitor screen, go to:
    Settings > General Settings > Wireless Comm
  2. Tap Wi-Fi Search, select your home network, and enter your password.
  3. Tap Config and wait until the system shows "Connected" with a green indicator.

Step 5: Find Your Serial Number

  1. From the E4 monitor, go to Information.
  2. The first line you see will be the monitor’s serial number.
  3. Enter this number into the app under the Serial Number section and tap Confirm.

Once confirmed, your site should appear on your app’s home screen.

Step 6: Invite GridFree for Support

To allow GridFree to help monitor your system and configure it correctly:

  1. Tap the gear icon in the top-right corner of your site page.
  2. Go to Install Settings > User Management.
  3. Tap Invite User and enter:
    📧 nova@gridfree.store
  4. Tap Confirm.

This lets us assist with troubleshooting, alerts, and optimising your setup.
