At GridFree, Trina is our new solar panel of choice, and we are proud to use it in our kits for several reasons.
- Manufacturing
Trina Solar’s products have always maintained high reliability and solid performance based on their commitment to quality. They tightly control every step of the manufacturing process, from silicon crystallization to module deployment in the field, and guarantee the quality of their products with an industry-leading 25-year lifetime warranty, assuring at least 80% output at the end of the 25-year operating time. Trina is a Tier 1 AAA rank PV manufacturer.
- Power and Performance
Using the latest PERC technology, an extra layer is added to every cell which helps reflect sunlight back into the panel to capture more photons that can be converted into energy. This gives the panel extremely high power output, especially in low light conditions. This means our solar panels produce 390W from a size where most panels only produce 270W under optimal conditions.
- Efficiency
This panel integrates various technologies like half-cut and multi busbar (MBB) cells. MBB can shorten over 50% of the current conduction distance and thus lower the power loss due to internal ribbon resistance. With finer and narrower busbars, more sunlight can be reflected to the round ribbon, thus increasing energy efficiency.
These panels also use half-cell technology. Two pieces of half cells are connected in series, so the power loss caused by ribbon resistance is reduced to 1/4 of that in full cell, which results in decreased electrical resistance within the ribbon which improves the overall efficiency of the module by more than 2%.
The half-cell design also leads to low thermal coefficients allowing for a better power production at higher temperatures.
- Durability
Designed to withstand even extreme environments, the Trina panels are certified by TUV NORD as resistant to salt, mist, and ammonia heavy environments. In addition, the panels are manufactured to withstand 2400 pascal wind loads and 5400 pascal snow loads. With an effective temperature range of -40~+80 degrees Celsius, the Trina Vertex offers an effective power solution that is built to last.
- Materials
The advanced glass and cell surface texturing designs allows for excellent performance even in low light conditions, while the anodized aluminium fame and EVA encapsulant material provide a stronger, lighter structure than most panels with a similar power output.
