Living simply and within your means is the most common value when it comes to going GridFree. From living in a compact space, to reducing your consumption and being completely self-sufficient this place has it all. It's a tiny piece of paradise - let's go check it out!
"Our solar systems have never missed a beat since I installed them over a year and half ago, thanks to Zed and Ethan for your help. Also my cousin Gary and his whanau who have never had power on their Bach are enjoying the benefits of not depending on a generator."
Recently Karen purchased a Bach Kit to power their new cabin they've built on a patch of bare land near Taumarunui, and she videoed the process of her and her partner Hayden installing it! Make sure to subscribe to her channel to see all her updates about self-sufficiency and living off the grid!
Karma and Scott are running the Bach Kit in their 1984 Isuzu bus, which they have converted themselves over the last year!
Overall we are very happy with our system, its perfect for what we need.
Uses about 40% of the stored battery capacity overnight and we don’t minimize power usage and by 10am its at 100% again.
With that plan in mind we talked to the team at GridFree who helped us put our plan in place. As scheduled we upgraded to the Freedom Kit in March. Both my husband and I were able to install the solar kit, and upgrade, on our own (with me reading the instructions, of course).
